Day at the Zoo

Yesterday we took a trip up to the zoo with Mandy, Anna, Nic and Cooper. It was the perfect day for the zoo, the sun wasn't out so it wasn't hot at all. There was a little wind here and there but not bad at all.
Kyle and Ez checking out the geese.

Elephants. (Ezra has been drooling tons so I have to keep his bib on constantly or he will soak his clothes!)

Problem Solved!

I got a gate! I figure the only sure way of keeping him away from those stairs is to get a gate up ASAP! Luckily I didn't have to buy one, I have been reaping the benefits of my sister having a baby first:)! Ezra LOVES his walker...he is constantly plowing through anything and everything on the floor and rams into things, backs up, and continues running around!

Just love this little face (too bad its a little blurry)

Swinging with cousin Anna.

He has so much fun swinging! As you can see by the huge smile!

Swinging together.
Love the happy face!
A few fun facts: At 10 months Ezra is belly crawling all over the place, has 2 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth popping through. He blabbers a lot and loves to say da da most. He growls when we ask him what the bear says, waves hi and bye, plays patty cakes, gives 5, loves to walk with us holding his hands and is a swimming machine!

My Worst Nightmare!

Ever since I got Ezra a walker it has been my worst nightmare thinking about him going down the stairs in it. I have been SO SO SO conscious about blocking the stairs with his carseat the very second I put him in it (the rubber on the bottom keeps it from moving, until I get a gate). Im sure you know where this story is going!!! Well the other night we had a bunch of our families at our house and with people coming and going up and down the stairs it got moved several times. We failed to mention why we had a carseat in the middle of the walkway! I was cleaning up the kitchen a little and all of a sudden I heard my Brother-in-Law yell and run...(I don't really remember what...I think I went into shock! I knew....it was happening...I heard a big crash and tumble! I went running with absolute FEAR filling my body...NO NO NO, that CAN'T be Ezra...I NEVER leave the stairs un-blocked!!! This was what I saw...except obviously Ezra was IN the walker at the time! My Bro-in-Law barely missed him and saw him go down, he flipped over a few times and landed like this.

This is my usual barricade.

He screamed for a few minutes and seemed quite tramatized...as was I! He hit the side of his head on the baseboard on his way down and got a big rug burn on his chin from the carpet at some point.

Back to his happy self. I was so worried he would have some sort of head injury but I checked his eyes and he was acting normal. It could have been so much worse, as I had imagined it over and over in my head.

Battle wounds!
I think it took me way longer to recover from it than him! He is my little tough guy!

Snow Day

A few snow storms ago we slept at my parents house so Kyle could have quick access to Snowbird in the morning for a sweet powder day. I took Ezra out to play in the snow and he seemed to have a pretty good time. First I put him in the swing and he loved it.

Then we made snow angels:)

I plopped him down in the snow and he seemed to be having a pretty good time, until....

....He tried to crawl and this happened! He was not too fond of the cold snow all over his face!

These are just a few random pics I just took off my camera...
Anna and Ez playing in the pack n' play while we were up in Snowbasin a few weeks ago on a ski trip.

Just thought he looked cute wrapped in the "magic" red blanket on our bed so I had to take a few pics! I call it magic because when we had a hard time getting him to sleep we would wrap him in it and he would instantly fall asleep!

Bathtime fun! Anna made sure she put a "3" under her name since she is 3.

Catching up

I am trying to keep up with blogging since I don't scrapbook so whenever I unload my camera to the computer I like to post some pics. These were from a few weeks ago so I figured I better get on it so I don't get too behind. I even have more on my camera that I have to unload.

He loves to just stand and hold onto things!

Last week, (When we thought it was spring!) we went with some friends to Gardner Village to enjoy the warm weather. We walked around and let the babes look at the ducks, birds, fish, and Geese. (Thanks Heather!)
Ezra loved the Goose, I really wanted to let him pet it but I wasn't about to let him get his finger bit off. He kept trying to walk to it whenever I set him down.

Swim swim swim!

Ezra has been in swimming lessons for the past few months and he LOVES it! He does so good under water and loves to splash and kick. I throw a toy away from him in the water and he goes crazy kicking and swimming trying to get to it(of coarse I have my hand under his belly!)...it is so cute, I love to watch him and play with him in the water! He is my little swimming champ!
The under water photographer was at our last lesson so I had to take advantage and get one!

It looks like the Nirvana album cover but I think my baby is way cuter!! (And more Modest:)

9 months old

My sweet little boy is 9 months old!!! I can't believe how fast time goes! We took him to the Doctor yesterday and this is how he weighed in... 19.1 lbs=26%, 28.1 inches long=48% and head is 60%! I can't believe how healthy he has been considering all odds were against him while I was pregnant! Here are just a few of the things WE went through together...30 lbs lost and starvation during pregnancy, multiple medications including narcotics, risky surgeries and procedures done several times during pregnancy, and his 5 week early arrival. Pretty much everything your not supposed to do during pregnancy was done and he had not one problem or complication! He is my little miracle baby! (I didn't have any current pics to post and I found these on Kyle's cousins blog from Kip and Emily's wedding so I had to steal them...Thanks Katie! To see more of her awesome photography and Kip and Emily's wedding check out her site at www.katietorriente.blogspot.com.

Temple Square. One night when Kyle was working, I tagged along with Mandy, Shaun and Anna down to see the lights. It was freezing so I had Ez bundled up to the max and he slept almost the whole time we were walking around!

Wolf Creek Colorado

Last week we went on a quick ski trip down to Wolf Creek ski resort in Colorado to meet up with our friends Nic and Cat Dewsnup. It was going to be such a quick trip that we decided to leave Ezra with my sister cause we didn't want to drive 8 hours with a baby, ski, and drive back 8 hours again with a baby(Plus, who really wants to SKI with a baby:)). The whole family was supposed to go but with a few bumps in the road it ended up just being me, Kyle, Patrick(my bro), and Kyle's parents. We left on Tuesday afternoon, skied Wed and Thurs, and drove back Thursday after skiing. Everything was going fine until the drive home... Kyle, Scott(Kyle's Dad) and I somehow caught some kind of stomach bug and all 3 of us were throwing up the whole way home! It was the longest 8 hour drive ever!
Hiking the ridgeline. Toni, Nic, me, Patrick

Riding the lift.

Getting ready to drop in.
Our ski lines...yellow is Patrick, brown is mine, blue is Nic, and red is Kyle.
This was the first time I had left Ezra for very long and I missed him tons but it was nice to get 2 ski days in without having to worry about him, he had so much fun playing with his cousin Anna! Thanks Mandy, Shaun, and Anna! And thanks for the fun trip Nic and Cat!
