Happy 1st Birthday Ezra!

I can't believe its been a year already! This was his very first picture, all slimey...kinda gross, I know!
June 9th, 2009 6:29 pm 5 lbs. 4 oz. 18.5 in.
We celebrated his birthday on Monday evening...this is his invitation.

Okay okay stop laughing at my attempt at a cake. I definitely didn't get my mom's cake making abilities and creativity. This is Ezra's own cake to dive into.
I made cupcakes for everyone else.

We had some family and friends over for a BBQ and pool party at Kyle's parents house.

It was supposed to be in the 80's but it got cloudy and a little chilly.

Now for the birthday cake. He was so cute when we sang Happy Birthday, he looked really confused at first, then when he saw everyone looking at him and singing he got really happy!

As soon as he had a taste of that frosting he couldn't stop smiling!

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us! We had so much fun!

St. George

We headed down to St. George for a quick trip after Memorial Day weekend. We planned a little hike up Red Cliffs but when we got there it had JUST closed for road construction. Notice the sign says June 1st-August 1st...it was 10 am on June 1st when we got there...we were pretty bummed!

So we went home, got our suits on and took Ezra to a nearby splash pad. He had lots of fun playing in the water and crawling around.

After the splash pad we headed back to the clubhouse to swim...Ezra's 2nd love. Of coarse, his 1st love is me:)

Later that day, we planned a bike ride on the Quarry Trail but when we started biking the trail, there were stairs and rocks that I didn't feel comfortable taking Ezra on it safely. So we put him in the backpack instead and turned it into a hike.

It was about a 2.5 mile easy, scenic hike.

At the end of the trail there was a really pretty view of the valley.

The next day we decided to take our bike ride on the Virgin River parkway. We rode for about 4 miles and turned around cause Ezra started to get really tired and cranky.

We stopped under a bridge so Ezra could get his feet wet in the river.

Later on we did the splash pad and swimming again.

We had lots of fun taking Ezra down to enjoy the outdoors.

Kansas, Foreigner and Styx

Me, Kyle, Mandy(my sister), Shaun (bro-in-law) and Patrick (brother) went to the Kansas, Foreigner and Styx concert on Saturday night. We all wore rock band shirts and bandanas so we would fit in. All the guys also wore wigs. Shauns wig was the best! people kept asking if they could touch it and took pics of him. Kyle is wearing his favorite Karate Kid bandana...classic! He always has to pull a face!

I thought Foreigner put on the best show.

Styx finished off the night.

There was definitely lots of other entertainment besides the bands. Gotta love the pink mohawk.

My brother, Patrick, is always up to something crazy or weird. Here are a few videos of him I thought were kinda funny! He is such a nerd!

Crazy Sleeper

Ezra has entered the crazy sleeping positions phase. The last few nights when I go check on him he is always in some wierd or cute position so I thought I would get a few pics.
I think it is so cute when babies fall asleep with their bums in the air!
This is the most crazy one! When I put him to bed the other night I heard him get up and start playing around in his crib, after about 20 minutes it went quiet so I went to check on him to make sure he was covered. When I saw him I was a little shocked...how in the world could anyone sleep like that? He was completely bent in half with his face straight down on the mattress! (I was a little freaked out about it too, Im glad I checked on him quickly!) It's like he just got tired, sat down, bent over and fell asleep.

He also seems to flip upside down in his crib lately...maybe I should just put him to bed upside down so he will end up the right way.

Not a sleeping one but after his nap the other day I heard all this banging going on in the monitor. I went in and he had gotten a hold of his monitor...I love the little smirk under his binky!

Bubble Boy

I got Ezra a bubble machine for the tub and he loves it!

This one just cracks me up...whenever he is diaper free he scratches his bum constantly. He has all these little scratch marks on his cheeks...such a guy:)
